Our story

A little balm, before the walk

Dogs meet the ground bare-pawed, and hot pavement, ice and road salt can be tough on a paw pad. Paw Guard is a wax balm you rub onto the pads before heading out — a thin, breathable barrier that eases the ground against the paw. Made from natural waxes and oils, it is applied in a few seconds and works its way into the pad to keep it soft and comfortable. It is a grooming product for everyday walks, not a medicine and not intended to address any paw injury.

How it's made

Paw Guard is made from a blend of natural waxes — such as beeswax and plant wax — and conditioning oils, melted, mixed and poured into tins. No synthetic ingredients are added, and the balm is left unscented so it is gentle around a dog's sensitive nose.

How to use it

Before a walk, rub a small amount between your fingers to soften it, then massage a thin layer into each paw pad, including between the toes. Reapply after swimming or a long walk. It can also be applied to dry, tired pads at the end of the day.

Good to know

Is it safe if my dog licks it?

It is made from natural, food-safe waxes and oils, so the small amount a dog might lick is not a concern. It is not meant to be eaten, and if your dog licks it off, apply a little more before the walk.

How long does a tin last?

An 85 g tin lasts several months of daily walks. Use a little — a thin layer is all the pad needs — and reapply only when the day is long or the ground is harsh.

Is it a medicine for paw injuries?

No. It is a grooming product for everyday protection before walks. It is not a medicine and not intended to address any injury — for an injured paw, see a vet.

How do I apply it?

Rub a little between your fingers to soften it, then massage a thin layer into each pad and between the toes. Apply before a walk and reapply after swimming or a long outing.

What is in it?

A blend of natural waxes, such as beeswax and plant wax, with conditioning oils. It is left unscented and contains no synthetic ingredients.

How does it protect paws?

The balm forms a thin, breathable wax barrier over the paw pad, easing the ground against it. It softens and conditions the pad, so hot pavement, ice and road salt are less harsh on the walk.
